I set up Release Sports Therapy in 2023 with a vision to provide a bespoke sports therapy service that encompasses postural assessment, sports massage, dry needling, myofascial cupping, kinesiology and sports taping.

I am a qualified Level 4 practitioner based in Cyncoed, Cardiff.
​
As a Sports Therapist I can treat clients with musculoskeletal disorders, pain or injury using different treatment modalities, rehabilitation and positive client education.  I believe that the end goal is always to focus on restoring maintaining and maximising movement, relieving pain and discomfort, improving performance and quality of life.

As the business grows I ensure that I keep up to date with latest methodologies and thinking to ensure that I can provide the best treatment for the client.

Mike Smith is a fully qualified Sports Therapist holding a Level 4 Certificate from ITEC.   Mike regularly attends webinars and is continuing his professional development to further his skills and obtain his Level 5 Certificate.
​
Mike is a retired Firefighter with a career spanning 29 years and a keen sportsman.
​
Having played rugby for a number of years, then later getting involved with power and Olympic lifting, Mike has experienced a lot of the injuries some of his clients are now experiencing. During his sporting years he's had both shoulders repaired, fixing rotator cuff tears and more recently a knee arthroscopy. Mike is happy to say he's all fixed for now and states he can use those injury and recovery experiences to benefit his clients.
